Instructions: View STL file online
1. Open File
There are two ways to load an STL file:
- File Selection: Click Select STL File at the top and choose a
.stlfile from your device. - Drag & Drop: Alternatively, drag the
.stlfile directly into the viewer area.
Your file is processed exclusively in the browser. It is never transmitted to a server.
2. Rotate, Zoom, Move Model

3. Predefined Views
From the toolbar, you can jump to standard views with a click:
- Iso – standard isometric view
- Front / Top / Side – orthogonal projections
- Reset – resets the camera to the Iso view and re-centers the model in the window
4. Customize Display
- Wireframe – displays the model's triangle mesh.
- Background – choose any background color for the stage using the color picker.
- Model – adjusts the model color (default: ivory).
- Fullscreen – maximizes the viewer to the entire screen.
5. Read Model Information
Below the viewer, you will find:
- Triangles – number of triangular faces in the model (indicator of detail level)
- Size – Bounding box in millimeters (X × Y × Z)
- Volume – calculated volume in cm³ (relevant for material consumption)
Frequently Asked Questions
Which file formats are supported?
The viewer opens STL files in binary or ASCII format. Other formats (OBJ, 3MF, STEP) are currently not supported – learn more on the File Formats page.
How large can the file be?
There is no strict upper limit. Very large models (several hundreds of MB) can become slow on older devices, as the entire model is loaded locally into memory.
Are my files saved?
No. The file never leaves your browser – see Privacy Policy.
